    Has the Olympics ever been apolitical? It’s pretty much an event for the host country to show off its achievements. Also, it was (and maybe still is) an event for some countries to show off their form of government is superior to others. Or maybe to soothe a nation’s long-held animosity towards another by beating them in the games.
